The story

For years, our team at PSICV has been designing auto-following systems for industrial clients. Custom carts for warehouses, autonomous transport for factories, specialized followers built to spec. Every project was full-stack: the UWB ranging modules, the motor controllers, the pursuit algorithms, the lidar avoidance. All of it, designed and built in-house.

The work was good. The clients were happy. But every solution was locked inside a specific product for a specific customer. The technology never escaped.

That started to bother us. The core problem, making something follow you reliably outdoors, is solved. We have solved it dozens of times. But the only people who benefited were the ones who could afford a custom industrial contract.

We kept asking the same question: what if someone could just bolt this onto a cart they already own?

In July 2026, we decided to find out. followwagon is the result: the same industrial-grade ranging, control, and drive technology, packaged as a set of modules that work together, paired with open chassis designs so anyone can build the frame and buy the electronics. No more custom contracts.

It is not a finished product yet. The first kits ship in Q1 2027. But the engineering is real, and we are writing about it as we go.

01 / OPEN FRAME

Build your own chassis

We publish chassis drawings so you can fabricate or order the frame from any shop, then bolt on our modules and motors. Or design your own frame from scratch. The hardware is yours to build; the core electronics are ours to perfect.

02 / OUTDOOR

Not a lab toy

Everything we build is tested on real ground, grass, gravel, and pavement, not just on a clean lab floor. If it does not work outdoors in the sun, it does not ship.

03 / ONE KIT

Three modules, used together

The UWB ranging module, the vehicle controller, and the motor driver are designed as one system and must be used together. You get a proven stack, not a parts bin. The flexibility is in the frame and the motor, not in the core electronics.

Use our published chassis drawings to fabricate or order the frame. Buy the full kit: UWB module, controller, driver, and our specified motors. Bolt it together and it follows.

STAGE 02

Your frame, recommended motors

Design your own chassis. Buy our module set plus one of several motors we recommend. Enter a few chassis dimensions and the controller configures itself. No firmware hacking.

STAGE 03

Your frame, any motor

Design your own chassis, choose any motor that meets our power specs. Enter chassis and motor parameters, and the driver auto-learns the motor characteristics. Full flexibility, same proven core.
